"In the year of sixteen twenty, a ship crossed the sea,
With brave Pilgrims aboard, seeking land to be free."
"Upon reaching the shore, they found a new place,
But winter was harsh, and the cold they’d face."
"The Wampanoag people, so wise and so true,
Taught them how to plant, how to gather, and brew."
"The Pilgrims took notes, they worked side by side,
In gratitude for help, their hearts opened wide."
"When autumn came near, they gathered their yield,
With pumpkins and turkeys from the plentiful field."
"With laughter and stories, they gathered around,
The spirit of friendship and gratitude found."
"They feasted on turkey, and corn freshly ground,
With pies made from pumpkins, sweet flavors abound."
"So now every November, we gather to say,
Thank you for blessings that come our way."
"So when you sit down for your holiday meal,
Think of that first feast and the joy that was real."
